One of the most important guides providing unbiased information for tenants and landlords in the private rented sector is the 'How to Rent' published by the government. It provides a checklist and more detailed information on each stage of the process, including:
- what to look out for before renting
- living in a rented home
- what happens at the end of a tenancy
- what to do if things go wrong
The guide was first published in June 2014 and has been updated in numerous times. Now, it is one of the most important documents and we as estate agents are obliged to provide the last updated version with any new tenancy or whenever a Form 6A Notice seeking possession of a property let on an Assured Shorthold Tenancy is being served.
